A reporter asked: On June 8 Eastern Time, the US Department of Defense added multiple Chinese companies to the “Chinese Military Enterprises List.” What is the Ministry of Commerce's response?

Response: We have noted this development. The Chinese side expresses strong dissatisfaction and firm opposition.

The US side has disregarded the consensus reached by the heads of state of China and the United States at the Beijing summit, ignored the overall situation of China-US economic and trade relations, continuously broadened the concept of national security, abused state power, and imposed unreasonable suppression on Chinese companies. The US actions seriously undermine the international economic and trade order, severely harm the stability of global industrial and supply chains, and seriously damage the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese companies.

The Chinese side urges the US side to immediately stop its erroneous practices, immediately revoke the relevant measures, and return to the correct path of building a constructive and stable China-US strategic relationship, providing fair, just, and non-discriminatory treatment for Chinese companies. Otherwise, China will resolutely take forceful countermeasures, and the consequences and responsibilities arising therefrom shall be entirely borne by the US side.
