Spokesperson for the Ministry of Commerce Responds to Journalists' Questions Regarding the Nexperia Semiconductor Issue

A reporter asked: Recently, Dutch Minister of Economic Affairs Karremans issued a statement on his personal social media account regarding the Nexperia Semiconductor issue. What is the Ministry of Commerce's comment on this?

Answer: China has noted the statement issued by Dutch Minister of Economic Affairs Karremans on November 6. However, to date, we have not seen any concrete actions from the Dutch side to cease infringing upon the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises and restore stability to the global semiconductor supply chain. Guided by a responsible attitude toward the stability and security of the global semiconductor supply chain, China announced on November 1 that it would grant exemptions for relevant exports that meet the criteria. The root cause and responsibility for the current disruption of the global semiconductor supply chain lie with the Dutch side. China hopes that the Dutch side will not stop at mere statements but will promptly propose substantive and constructive solutions and take concrete actions to swiftly and effectively restore the stability of the global semiconductor supply chain at its source. It should also cease using administrative measures to intervene in and interfere with the internal affairs of enterprises, thereby facilitating an early resolution of the Nexperia issue. China agrees to the request from the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs to send representatives to China for consultations.
