China FX Market March 2026: Total Transactions Hit 30.09 Trillion Yuan (SAFE Data)

According to statistics from the State Administration of Foreign Exchange (SAFE), in March 2026, transactions in the Chinese foreign exchange market (excluding foreign currency pairs, the same below) totaled 30.09 trillion yuan (equivalent to 4.36 trillion US dollars).

By Market Type:

• Customer market transactions: 5.00 trillion yuan (equivalent to 0.72 trillion USD)
• Interbank market transactions: 25.09 trillion yuan (equivalent to 3.63 trillion USD)

By Product Type:

• Spot market cumulative transactions: 11.18 trillion yuan (equivalent to 1.62 trillion USD)
• Derivatives market transactions: 18.91 trillion yuan (equivalent to 2.74 trillion USD)

Q1 2026 Cumulative Data:
From January to March 2026, cumulative transactions in the Chinese foreign exchange market totaled 75.78 trillion yuan (equivalent to 10.90 trillion US dollars).
